Famed car designer Carroll Shelby received the 2011 Keith Crain/Automotive News Lifetime Achievement Award on Thursday evening during the Washington auto show. The award is given annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the auto industry. "I accept this award with all of the humility a person could have," Shelby said.
There’s been a whole heap of shots of the new baby Rolls, the RR4 as it’s known internally, and we featured some last month. But news has now arrived that Rolls Royce is actually planning on revealing the EX200 concept car at Geneva, which is pretty much what the new Rolls will be.
Bob Wallace, Lamborghini’s first ever test and development driver, has passed away in the Italian supercar manufacturer’s 50th anniversary year. He was 75. New Zealand-born Wallace played a key role in the development of the firm’s road cars between 1964 and 1975, having joined the company initially as a mechanic.
